COSTA RICA!

Jon and I recently bought our plane tickets for Costa Rica. We will be honeymooning from November 21-28. There are many plusses when planning a September wedding, but for teachers, the downside is that the school year has already begun.

Here's the plan. After the wedding, Jon and I will be spending a few nights at a quaint bed and breakfast before returning to work. One of the many perks of working at the Milton Hershey School is extended breaks for holidays. This November, teachers and students will have an entire week to celebrate Thanksgiving, so Jon and I have chosen to explore Costa Rica during this time.

Why Costa Rica?

1) RAINFOREST: Jon and I are excited to wake up to the sound of exotic birds and howler monkeys, and even more excited to explore and discover all the rainforest has to offer.
2) ARENAL VOLCANO: I've never actually seen a volcano, except in pictures, and I'm pretty sure the same is true for Jon.
3) HOT SPRINGS: The Arenal National Park is home to many natural hot springs. Jon and I will definitely spend some time relaxing and soaking in these heavenly puddles.
4) BEACHES: Costa Rica has miles and miles of beautiful beaches. It will be great to get some sun!
5) LATIN CUISINE: I cannot wait to savor some local, Latin cuisine. I guess you could say that Jon and I enjoy food!

As we research and learn more about this beautiful country, our excitement continues to grow. There are so many things that we want to see and do, but more than anything, we hope to connect with Costa Rican culture by spending time in small towns like Puerto Jimenez: playing soccer with the locals and volunteering at the Carbonera School, a recent discovery for us.

To get an idea of the places we will visit, check out these pictures.
